Markets In Financial Instruments Directive

an EU directive that sets out detailed requirements governing the organization and conduct of business of investment companies, and how regulated markets and multilateral trading facilities should operate. It came into force on November 1, 2007, replacing the Investment Services Directive (ISD), and made significant changes to the regulatory framework to reflect developments in financial services and markets since the ISD was implemented.
