London Metal Exchange

one of the world's largest nonferrous metal exchanges, based in London. Its origins can be traced back to the opening of the Royal Exchange in 1571, though in its present form it dates from 1877. It now deals in aluminum, copper, lead, nickel, tin, and zinc, as well as other, minor metals. The primary roles of the exchange are hedging, providing official international reference prices, and appropriate storage facilities.
