Trigger Line

A chart indicator used to signal when conditions warrant buying or selling a security. When the trigger line crosses below the moving average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line, traders take this as a signal to sell the asset, while a trigger line crossing above the MACD line is an indication to buy.
