Tokyo Stock Exchange

TSE. The largest stock exchange in Japan, and the second largest stock exchange in the world. Over 2200 companies are listed on the Tokyo stock exchange. The companies are organized into three sections, depending upon the size of the company - First Section (largest companies), Second Section (midsize companies), and Mothers (startup companies). The exchange switched over to electronic trading in 1999; previously all trading had been done on a traditional trading floor.
