Timberland Investment

An investment vehicle whose underlying assets are tree farms and natural forests. Timberland stocks have low correlation to stock, bonds and real estate and thus, considered to be a good diversifying agent and hedging instrument. The returns of these investments come from biological growth, lumber price appreciation and product class movement.
