North-east Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC)

The North-east Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC) is a regional fisheries management organisation founded in 1963 with the objectives of promoting the conservation and optimum utilisation of living marine resources within the Convention area, and providing a forum for consultation and exchange of information. The Convention area covers the north-east Atlantic, southern parts of the Baltic Sea and a smaller part of the Mediterranean. Its regulatory powers only apply to areas outside EEZs.
