Momentum Fund

Funds that choose their investments by virtue of current trends in things such as their earnings or movement in share price. If companies have been trending in a particular direction, then the portfolio manager will likely take a position in the same direction as these trends with the intention of riding the wave. The portfolio manager will typically then sell the positions once the upward wave has passed.
