Establishing the entry position into a complex financial investment often used to lower the risk associated with the buying and selling of commodities future contracts. Gains and losses resulting from the legging-in hedging strategy will be deferred until the eligible instrument matures. At the time of maturity, it will either be disposed of or terminated.
