Korea Investment Corporation (KIC)

A sovereign wealth fund and global investment management company established in July 2005 by the Government of South Korea. The goal of the KIC is to enhance the country's wealth and further develop their financial industry. It specializes in overseas investments and manages some of South Korea's foreign reserves. The KIC initially received $17 billion in foreign exchange reserves from the Bank of Korea and a further $3 billion from the South Korean Ministry of Finance and Economy.
