Internal Auditor

An employee whose task is to provide unbiased auditing and assurance services. Tasks generally include making sure financial statements comply with SEC and government standards, objectively evaluating corporate governance, and monitoring the effectiveness of internal controls and making adjustments and changes as necessary. internal auditors report to the highest levels of management, including the board of directors of publicly-owned companies.
