Flat Yield Curve

a visual representation of relative interest rates that shows the same interest rates for long-term bonds as for short-term bonds. As investors are assumed to prefer shorter maturities to longer ones, other factors being equal, a flat yield curve is normally assumed to imply that investors can expect lower short-term rates in future.
