Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC)

A formal interagency council that meets periodically to discuss and ensure uniformity of report forms, standards, and principles throughout financial governmental institutions. It gains its authority to prescribe any necessary changes from the federal agencies involved, including the board of directors for the federal reserve and the federal deposit insurance corporation (FDIC).
