Fair Trade Investing

A socially responsible investment philosophy that promotes improvement in standards of living for workers in developing nations. Capital is placed into market sectors that seem most likely to make a difference to the targeted social group. For example, fair trade investors might intervene in commodity and future markets so that producers will get a better price for a product and be able to offer higher compensation for agricultural workers.
