Euro Deposit

The deposit of non-euro currency in the European banking system. For example, a Japanese investor can deposit a certain amount of yen in the euro currency. Investors earn interest on euro deposits (per a floating interest rate). interest rates are set by the european central bank. The euro deposit also offers the possibility for capital appreciation if the value of the investor's home currency depreciates against the euro.
