Meaning / Definition of
Deferred Load
Categories: Mutual Funds, Investing and Trading,
A charge on investors on their sale of fund shares. Usually, deferred loads decrease over time; for instance, a charge of 10% may be assessed on shares if sold within the first year, 9% on the next, and so on. This is to encourage investors to buy and hold their investments rather than buy and sell for a short time.
