Cash Plus Convertible

A bond that may be exchanged for cash and common shares of a company's stock. When a company needs to raise capital, it may issue convertible bonds as an alternative to issuing new shares of stock. Owners of convertible bonds may decide to convert their bonds to shares if they believe the price of a stock will go up.
