Brussels Stock Exchange

stock exchange based in Brussels, Belgium, established in 1801. It merged with the Antwerp stock exchange in 1993 and with the Belgian Futures and Options Exchange in 1999. It then merged with the Amsterdam and Paris stock exchanges on September 22, 2000, to create Euronext, the first pan-European exchange, and is now part of the nyse euronext group as Euronext Brussels. The main index of stocks on the exchange is the BEL 20.
