Popular stock exchange, located in Mumbai, India. The exchange is the largest (in terms of market capitalization) in South Asia. In terms of the number of companies traded on the exchange (approximately 4700), it is the largest in the world. The main index which tracks the performance of the exchange is the bse sensex.
